Sweet Saturday: Chocolate Cake for Breakfast

I LOVE CHOCOLATE.

ALL things chocolate, I don't discriminate against any kind. (Although the fruity kind may not always be my favorite) But, seriously, chocolate is something I'm almost certain, I couldn't live without and often times I get scolded because I just.need.it.every.darn.day.

So when I come across recipes that seamlessly fit into my nutrition plan AND consist of chocolate, I'm ALL IN!

The BEST part about this cake.... It has over 70 globally sourced superfoods packed into it!! Vegetables in cake?! YUP! You heard me right ;)



Chocolatey goodness




Here is my "Cake" for Breakfast Recipe!! Adapted from this recipe.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp of oats
3/4th of a banana
1 egg
1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
pinch of salt
Cinnamon
1 scoop of Chocolate Vegan (or regular) Shakeology

Directions:

1. Grind up 2 tbsp of oats (to turn them into a fine powdery substance) in a food processor. 
2. Add ¼ tsp of baking soda, a pinch of salt, cinnamon, egg, ¾ of a ripe banana, and 1 scoop of Choc. Shakeology
3. Blend well in a food processor.
4. Pour the batter into a coconut-oil greased mug, slipped in a few dark chocolate pieces and microwaved for 1.30 minutes. 
5. Take it out and ENJOY!



The recipe can also be adapted to various tastes! If you prefer to sub in a different flavor of Shakeology, that would taste great as well! Feel free to toss any additional ingredients in as well: peanut butter chips, fruit, nuts, pumpkin puree, etc!
